Houston LRT Phase II

As part of the 20-mile, four new lines double tracked light rail extension to the Houston Light Rail System, Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) is providing a design-build systems pacakge, and has been contracted to furnish and install the specialized systems transit work.

Our scope of work includes 20 miles of overhead catenary consisting of nearly 1,000 OCS poles, 1,500 cantilevers, and 455,000 LF of messenger/contact wire. Also included are 9 signal interlockings, 38 grade crossings with warning gates, 17 traction power substations, 250,000 LF of fiber optic cable, and communication devices such as CCTVs, public announcement system, and variable message signs at twenty-four (24) passenger stations.
