Groveland 3.6MW Solar Farm

Groveland Solar Project is a 3.6 MW solar farm on approximately 25 acres of land located in Groveland, Massachusetts. Mass. Electric Construction Co. (MEC) self-performed all the duct work, cable pulling, building racking systems, terminating cable wires including six inverters and the 15 kV power, and installed 12,672 solar modules.

Groveland Solar was the fourth photovoltaic project MEC completed with Gehrlicher Solar America Corp., and the largest solar project MEC has completed to date, in the shortest time frame . The 52-man crew of electricians started this fast-track project in October 31, 2012 and finished on December 22, 2012.

The Groveland Solar Project was completed injury free by keeping supervisors and craft engaged in safety, and keyed in on ergonomics by focusing on daily stetch-and-flex to prevent any bodily strains.

The project team was able to finish Groveland Solar Project on schedule and under budget. By following compliance regulations, and keeping safety our number one priority through the varied seasons of New England, MEC will continue to thrive in the solar industry in the upcoming years, always improving our performance and keeping our clients satisfied with our quality of work.
