• We supply field personnel with tablets so that they can view and send emails and submit reports from the field. They use geo location technology to view aerial maps and have the ability to instantly show an owner a map of the utilities under their feet.
• Speaking of feet – we are reducing our carbon footprint by utilizing tablet technology at meetings to reduce the amount of paperwork printed.
• A telematics system has been instituted to provide automated, on-board sensing and analysis sytems in company owned vehicles, in order to transmit real-time equipment status, condition, location and fluid levels data. This information is viewable on mobil devices for instant updates.
• Seeing a need to simplify the way we work, management created a task force to develop customized SAP software to streamline and integrate our business processes, as well as reduce paper.
